Lake eyas is a soda lake surrounded by volcanic mountains, this is home for the Hadzabe (Bushman) who are still live in a primitive way i.e. They are still hunting so they can put food on their table. Although they are not alone living in this great rift valley area their cousins the “Datoga” also live around and they are good blacksmiths.

Lake Eyas is the breeding habitat for large population of flamingos and pelicans, upon visiting this place the main activity will be walking especially when you visit these tribes.

Hadza and Datoga

If you visit this place, you will go hunting with the Hadza family and you will also be given a chance to test your archery wits, the family members will be hunting almost every animal or birds that will be sighted along the journey, after hunting the meat will be shared as these families still live a social life system.

Nevertheless, you will get the chance to visit the Datoga tribe which are blacksmiths (metal workers) and learn how they forge copper and aluminum and produce bracelets, knives, arrows etc. Which they trade with the Hadza.
