Tarangire National Park is the famous Tanzanian safari park located in Manyara region with coordinates 3°50′S 36°0′E, it covers the area of 2,850 square kilometers, from Arusha you will drive on a paved road for about 2 hours to reach the park and it’s a distance of 43 miles (70km) away from Lake Manyara National Park.
Tarangire park ecosystem is maintained by Tarangire river which the name of the park originates, the river is the source of fresh water for animals to drink, its vegetation is a mix of Acacia and combretum woodland, large baobab trees, and seasonal grassland, during dry season June to November where a lot of animals migrate near the river and near water holes for drinking what you can expect to see are Large herds of elephants, waterbuck, giraffe, impala, olive baboon, velvet monkey, dik dik, eland, zebra, wildebeest, grant gazelle, cape buffalo etc. And predators like lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger and African wild dog. Furthermore, you can expect to see birds as the park has around 550 different species of birds.
